Delmer Dwain Burns, 68, of Crooksville, passed away at 6:45 am ,Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at his residence after an extended illness. He was born August 29, 1948 at his home place in Moxie to the late Delmer L. “Bud” Burns and Ida Cinderella McCoy Burns. Delmer was formerly employed by many local potteries and loved fishing and woodworking in his work shop. Delmer proudly served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam Era and was a member of the New Lexington Legion Post 188. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Mary Martin Burns of the home; daughter, Heidi (Jerrod) Jordan of So. Zanesville; sons, Dwain Curtis (Anna Herman) of Crooksville, Morgan Lewis (Courtney) Burns of Zanesville and step son, Curtis E. Hays III of Dresden; several grandchildren and a great grandchild; sisters, Jeannette Dunn, Lelia Wheeler and Letha Richardson; special friends, George and Robin Martin. Friends and Family may call Thursday, April 13, 2017 from 6pm to 8pm at Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 207 Burley Street, Crooksville, where military honors will be provided by the New Lexington American Legion Post 188 at 8pm at the funeral home.
