Gary “MudCat” Lee Thompson, 54, of Crooksville, passed away Monday August 7, 2017 at Genesis Healthcare. Gary was born June 10, 1963 in Zanesville to Jerry and Joann (Allen) Thompson of Rose Farm. Gary is survived by his wife of 23 years, Jody (Cavinee) Thompson; two daughters, Jade Marie and Baylee Jo; his two beloved dogs Tate & Jaxx; his brother, Larry Thompson; sister, Amy (Dave) Binkley; nephew, Tyler; nieces, Peyton, Jordyn, Tabetha and Jessica. Four great nieces, an uncle and many aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Robert Thompson, Gene & Ruby Roe, Elvie & Louella (Stevens) Allen. Mudcat was devoted first and foremost to his kids, his love of the Buckeyes and all of his girls he coached through the years with his traveling softball team. His biggest dream was a cure for his daughter Baylee’s Mitochondrial disease. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2017 from 2:00pm to 8:00pm at Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 207 Burley Street, Crooksville, where funeral services will be held Thursday, August 10 at 11:00 am with Pastor Marc Caton officiating. Dinner will be held immediately following at the Roseville American Legion. The family has asked that everyone come help to celebrate MudCat’s life.
