George A. “Snake” Pride, 67, of Crooksville, passed away at his residence, Monday February 8, 2021 after a short -term courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 2, 1953 in Zanesville to the late Harold and Margaret Pierce Pride. Both of his biological parents passed away at a young age, and was adopted by Mildred Fortney Inman, whom George loved very much and always considered his mother. He was a member of the United States Marine Corp, although for a short time because of health issues and The Delaware American Legion Post 888. George was employed with Robinson Ransbottom Pottery in Ironspot as a mould runner until their closure. He had an amazing sense of humor, taking delight in making people laugh, performing magical acts and of course, his large clown collection. George was a lover of the outdoors, where he found joy in hunting mushrooms, Ginseng and fishing. Among those left to mourn his passing are sisters, Sue (John) Burns of Crooksville, Beverly Bankes of McConnelsville, Linda Stiers of Zanesville; brothers, Stanley Pride and Earl Pride, both of Ironspot; special friends, Ron and Elma Mae Hoops, Alice and Chris Parks, Randy McGrath and Judy Kane; faithful fur companion, Buster AKA Babe several nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding him in death were both sets of parents; brothers, Steve “Gopher” Inman, Rick “Cheetah” Inman, Jerry Inman, James “Jim” Pride, Jay Pride, Andy Pride and Robert “Bob” Pierce; sister, Donna McCabe. Calling hours will be held Friday February 12, 2021 from 1pm to 3pm at Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 207 Burley Street, Crooksville, where services will begin at 3pm with Pastor Don Harris officiating.
