Pietro Tartamella, 73, of Crooksville, passed away peacefully on Saturday December 8, 2018 at his home with his loving partner of 26 years, Paola by his side. He was the son of the late Illuminato and Nicolina Coppola Tartamella born on February 2, 1945 in Castellammare del Golfo, Sicily, Italy. Pietro spent most of his life as a baker and a singer, later known as the Singing Chef aired on PBS. He proudly served his country with honor in the Itailian Armed Forces (Esercito Italiano) Army division during the Vietnam War and was Catholic by faith. He is survived by his dearest love, Paola Cova; daughters, Lena and Marisa; stepchildren, Hank (Trisha) Pillsbury, Becky Risk and Rose Vila; grandchildren, Vicky and Robby of St. Louis, Stacey and Ian Risk of Atlanta, Alisha Pillsbury of Wisconsin and Cade Pillsbury of Crooksville; great grandchild, his beloved Lorelei Pillsbury; and his loving feline companions; brothers, Gregorio, Mimmo, Giuseppe, Camillo, Angelo and Salvatore; sisters, Maria and Antonia; and several nieces and nephews from New York. Visitation will be held Sunday December 16, 2018 from 4pm to 8pm at Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 207 Burley Street, Crooksville, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am Monday December 17, 2018 at Church of The Atonement, 310 Winter Street, Crooksville with Father Daniel Swartz as celebrant.
