Sharon S. (Eveland) Burns, 83, of Roseville, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2024, in Newark, Ohio. Born on July 12, 1940, in Roseville, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Guy and Leona (Wilson) Eveland. Sharon's life was characterized by her selfless nature and her passion for caring for others. As a young girl growing up in Roseville, she exhibited leadership and spirit, graduating from Roseville High School in 1958, where she was voted class president and actively participated in various activities, including her role as a four-year cheerleader. Her interests were as diverse as her roles in life; Sharon was an avid supporter of her children's and grandchildren's sporting events and a passionate fan of her beloved Ohio State Buckeyes during every season. Her enthusiasm for her team was infectious and created many joyful moments together with her family. The true loves of her life were her five children, whom she raised with boundless love and support. Sharon's determination to provide for her family was exemplified when she earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Ohio University at the age of 40, all while nurturing her growing family. Her children—Rob (Lori) Gossman, Thomas (Debbie) Gossman, Kellie Pettit, Stacy (Scott) Bowman, and Brady (Brandee) Burns—stood as a testament to her strength and dedication, growing into successful adults with Sharon always having their backs. Her professional life was marked by a deep commitment to her vocation as a nurse. After retirement, Sharon continued to extend her care as a patient care tech with Genesis. Her work and association with St. Paul Lutheran Church in Roseville as a lifetime member reflected her enduring faith and her desire to serve others. Sharon's life was further enriched by her adoration for her grandchildren, Jake (Kierston), Gracey, Austin (Jessi), Zach, Nate (Courtney), Mason, Gunner, Brelee, Beckham, Bexley, Alyssa, Taylor, Natasha (James) and Brent, as well as her cherished great-grandchildren, Willow, Daxton, Brynlee, Dawson, Elijah, Noah, and Jordan. In addition to her immediate family, Sharon shared a special bond with her spirited sisters, Kim (Jim) Drake and Brenda (Nate) Wahl, and her special niece, Kylie. Their weekly shopping trips and lunches were a source of joy and created memories that she treasured deeply. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Sharon was welcomed into Heaven by granddaughter, Erin Leighanna Taylor, her parents, Guy Eveland and Leona (Wilson) Eveland, and her brother, Michael Eveland. Graveside services will be held Monday, February 19, 2024, at 12:30pm in Rose Hill Cemetery with Pastor Albert Laese officiating. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in her memory to Genesis Hospice, 713 Forest Ave., Zanesville, Ohio 43701. You may sign the online register book at www.ross-frashfuneralhomes.com
