Richard “Rick” Kinney Sr., 63, of Crooksville, was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, Ronald, and Margaret (Reider) Kinney on November 30, 2023. He was born on November 2, 1960, in Crooksville, Ohio, where he spent most of his life. Rick worked for Dick’s Meat Packing Plant in New Lexington as a meat cutter for several years. His hobbies included mushroom hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR and football, but most of all, he enjoyed having a cold beer with his buddies at Sleepy’s Tavern. He leaves behind his loving wife of 41 years, Brenda (Durant) Kinney; son, Richard (Chris) Kinney Jr; daughter, Beth Kinney; his adoring grandchildren, Lane Kinney, Paige Emory, Chase Brown, and Hunter Brown; a great grandson, Brantley Brown all of Crooksville; uncle, Harold (Susan) Kinney of Junction City; nephew, Richie Savage Jr of Crooksville and brother-in-law, Bruce Durant of Zanesville. Rick was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Frank, and Elizabeth Kinney; several aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and a host of friends. Calling hours will be held, Monday, December 4, 2023, from 4pm -7pm at Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 207 Burley Street, Crooksville, where funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 11 am with Pastor Marc Caton officiating.
