Randy McNeal Obituary

Randy D. McNeal, age 72, of Crooksville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his residence on January 29, 2025. Born on March 8, 1952, in Zanesville, Ohio, to the late Russell McNeal and Rita (Rambo) McNeal, Randy lived a life that was as generous as it was joyous. He was a devoted husband to his loving wife of 52 years, Mary (Lyons) McNeal. Together, they created a warm and welcoming home, filled with love and laughter. His legacy continues through his beloved son, Jason (Mylie) McNeal, and his grandchildren, Russell D. McNeal, Scarlet Thomas, and Hazel Miller. Randy was the joker of the family, always ready with a quick wit and a funny story, ensuring that every family gathering was filled with laughter. His brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Janice McNeal, Patricia McNeal, Donna (Robert) Mayer, Carolyn (Scott) Jones, Kenny (Brenda) Lyons, Keith Lyons, and Bill Lyons, remember Randy as an honorary sibling who brought joy into their lives. In addition to his immediate family, Randy was a cherished friend to many, including his special friends Jeff Darrah, Keith Kerns, Terry Kerns, and Dick (Karen) Fisher. Randy's professional life was marked by over 30 years of dedicated service as a salesman at Higgins Lumber in Ironspot. There, he was not only a trusted colleague but also a friend who could always be relied upon for support and camaraderie, considering most of them as extended family. An avid bowler, Randy was a fixture at local bowling alleys, where he achieved several perfect games and a few near-perfect 299s. His love for the sport was matched only by his passion for fishing, where he found serenity and excitement in equal measures. The family would like to extend their gratitude to DaVita, Dr. Raul Hernandez, the nurses, staff and multiple friends he made there, as well as all caregivers with Shriver’s Hospice. Private services are to be held at Black Oak Cemetery, Deavertown. Services were provided by Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 33 N. Main Street, Roseville.
