Rachel "Betty" M. (Payne) Cox

Rachel M. “Betty” Cox, 94, of Roseville, passed away peacefully on Thursday October 28, 2021 at her daughter’s residence, surrounded by her family. She was born January 18, 1927 in Ironspot, to the late Charles and Anna Barker Payne. Betty worked at various local potteries and at Essex Wire throughout the years. She was a member of the Roseville American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and loved fishing and camping. Betty comes from a large and very loving family to include, daughters, Mary Cox, Martha Hayes, Matty (James) Riley, Tammie (Dean Starcher) Clark; sons, Charles (Linda) Cox, Donald (Barbara Thomas) Cox, Russell Cox; several grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and multiple other members of her large family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy P. Cox; son and daughter-in-law, Marvin (Marcia) Cox; brother, Gene Payne; sister Rosa Lewis; son-in-law, Jimmy Hall. Calling hours will be held Tuesday November 2, 2021 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm at Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 33 N. Main Street, Roseville, where funeral services will be held Wednesday November 3, 2021 beginning at 1pm with Pastor John J. Flynn officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
