Michelle L. “Lee” Kirkwood, 44, of Crooksville, passed away Monday, September 19, 2022, unexpectedly at her residence. She was born on June 17, 1978, in Zanesville to Robert and Melody (Tharp) Kirkwood. Lee was a 1996 graduate of Philo High School, where she excelled in Softball and Choir for her four-year tenure. She was a member of the First Hope United Methodist Church in Crooksville and was employed at Peach’s Place. Lee proudly served her country in the United States Army as an MP while stationed in Korea. She is survived by her parents, Robert (Melody) Kirkwood; brother, Sean (Heather) Kirkwood; sister, Ann (Chad) Rodgers; aunts and uncles, Connie (Gene) Russell and Jim (Linda) Kirkwood; several nieces and nephews. Lee was preceded in death by her son, William “Billy” Apger; special grandmother, Katie Curl and paternal grandparents, Russ (Tess) Kirkwood. Calling hours will be held Friday, September 23, 2022, from 2pm to 5pm at Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 207 Burley Street, Crooksville, where a celebration of life will begin at 5pm with Pastor Eddie Warne officiating. Cremation will follow and Lee will be laid to rest with her son, Billy at Ebenezer Cemetery.
