Mary “Mae” Papageorge, 91, of Crooksville, Ohio passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022. She was born on August 29, 1930, in Crooksville, a daughter to the late Fred and Catherine (Quinn) Rambo. She worked at Outreach for Joyce Drake, The Old Crooksville China Shop, Nelson McCoy, Robinson & Ransbottom, The Alpine, and The New Hall. Mae was awarded a certificate of recognition for valuable contribution to the Ohio Pottery Heritage in 2014 and was looking forward to being the 2022 Grand Marshall for the Crooksville-Roseville Pottery Festival. She is survived by Renita (Toby) Morgan, Leaninne (Rodney) McPeck, Craig (Deb) Papageorge, Kevin Papageorge, Lora (Tim) Guenthner, Kent (Tammy) Papageorge, Michael (Destiny) Papageorge, Alicia (Troy) Tipton, and her daughter-in-law Debbie Papageorge. Mae has 33 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren. She was proud to be a 5th generation grandmother. She was a loving and supportive grandmother who took pride in attending all their extra-curricular activities. Mae was a lifelong member of the Church of Atonement in Crooksville. She was an active member of the local senior center. She had many family friends who will miss her dearly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Christopher Papageorge (1982); her son, Lyn Papageorge (1999); her grandson, Tegan Papageorge (2012); and her four sisters, Anna Smith, Margaret “Peggy” Swingle, Gertude ‘Mike” Blosser, and Rita McNeal. We as a family would like to recognize Julie Welch for 8 years of service and friendship. Also, Shrivers Hospice Services and their nurses for their compassionate care. Calling hours will be held Wednesday July 6, 2022, at Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 207 Burley Street, Crooksville from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm, with Rosary being recited at 7:30pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, July 7, 2022, beginning at 10am with Father Todd Lehigh at Church of the Atonement, 300 Winter Street, Crooksville.
