Marilyn O. Smith, of Roseville, passed away peacefully in Zanesville, at her daughter’s home, on November 10, 2023, at the age of 91. Born on August 7, 1932, in Rose Farm, Ohio, she was the cherished daughter of the late Hugh and Ocie Dalrymple. Marilyn was a devoted mother to her sons, Stephen Jon (Kathy) Smith, Christopher Brent (Jennie) Smith, and her daughters, Jacqua Lynn (Mike) Heiney and Angie (Patrick) Jacolenne. Her love extended to her grandchildren, Jamaica (Ryan) Crom, Amberlyn (Gautam) Bagchi, Cody Huey, Alyson (Mark) Sujeebun, Amy (Brian) Kirsh, Megan Snith, Jack Smith, Patrick (Amy) Jacolenne and Michelle (Tom) Salyers. She was a proud great-grandmother to Alexis, Cameron, Art, Ian, Alec, Reese, Danica, Calin, Ryker, and Declyn. Also, a loving sister, to Joan Cameron. Her family was her joy, and she nurtured them with all the love in her heart. Professionally, Marilyn was a dedicated activities therapist in mental health at the Burke House for several years. She provided comfort and care to countless individuals during her career, bringing warmth and compassion to her work. Marilyn had a rich and active social life. She was an Auxiliary Member of the Roseville American Legion Post 71 and a founding member of the Rose Mothers Club. Marilyn was also a devoted member of the Roseville Presbyterian Church, where she found great comfort and community. Her faith was an important part of her life, guiding her actions and beliefs. Throughout her life, Marilyn enjoyed simple pleasures. She frequently played cards at the Senior Center and was known for her love for shopping, which was another of Marilyn's favorite pastimes, whether she was looking for the perfect gift for a family member or a new piece to add to her home or closet. She was preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” Smith; son, Stephen Jon Smith who passed away March 6, 2023; her parents; brother, Donald Dalrymple, and her sisters, Pearl Dobina, Doris Fauley, Wilda Yarger, and Wanda Dalrymple. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2023, from 11:00am – 1:00pm at Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 33 N. Main Street, Roseville, where funeral services will begin at 1:00pm with Rev.
