Leona R. Henkel, 86, of Zanesville, passed away Sunday, July 18 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Born in Akron, Ohio on June 29, 1935, she is the daughter of the late Josiah Reed and Beulah Seldon Reed Grant. Leona worked as a secretary for Business Equipment in downtown Zanesville for several years. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, watching Jerry Springer and listening to Elvis Presley. She is survived by her husband, Jerry L. Henkel; a son, Jerry (Alisha) Henkel; daughters, Sherry (John) Buckridge, Susie Walker, Cindy Foreman, Kathy (Tom) Robison; grandchildren, Jason (Misti) Henkel, Melanie Buckridge, Jessica (Jason) Keck, Tommy (Ashley) Robison and triplets, Wyatt, Kylie, Kaylie Henkel, Anastasia Carson, Jerry Henkel Jr; 8 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents; stepfather; daughter, Sally Jo; and son-in-law, Jimmy Walker. The Henkel family has chosen to mourn the passing of their beloved Leona privately.
