John T. VanWey Sr., 63 of Roseville, passed away Saturday April 14, 2018 at his residence. Born May 14, 1954, in Marion, Ohio. He was a loving husband of 30 years and devoted father. He was also a Vietnam vet, a member of Roseville American Legion Post 71 and a three term Clay Township trustee. He was employed with the Village of Roseville for 27 years, retired from the City of Columbus, and currently employed by the city of Coshocton. John is survived by his wife, Anita Jill (Wigal) VanWey of the home; a daughter, Devan A. (Blake) Barringer of Lancaster; sons, John T. VanWey Jr. (JT) and Casey J. VanWey, both of Zanesville; man’s best friend, Chloe Dawn; sisters, Mrs. Ruby J. (Roger) Bowen of Nashport and Mrs. April (Bud) Williams of Marion. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank H. VanWey Sr. and Iva Marie (Valentine) VanWey; brothers, Frank R. (Bob) VanWey Sr and Howard R. VanWey, special sister in law, Gloria VanWey and grandparents, Samantha Valentine (Carl Combs), Frank and Midge VanWey and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial is scheduled for Friday April 20, 2018 at 6:00 PM at the Roseville American Legion Post 71, 74 S. Main Street, Roseville.
