Janet Fluharty Obituary

Janet L. Fluharty, 78 of Roseville, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2024, at her residence under the care of Genesis Hospice. Born in Zanesville, Ohio, on July 21, 1945, to the late Robert Gebhart and Dorothy (Insley) Gebhart, Janet's life was marked by her spirited personality, her dedication to her family, and a career that included a contribution to a significant moment in aviation history. Janet's family was her pride and joy, and she leaves behind a legacy through her children, Guy Fluharty and Sharon (Ronnie) Lantz; her grandchildren, Brooke (Bobby) Barry, Ryan (Kaylie) Lantz, and Britanee (Dave) Ogden; and her great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Casey, Jensen, Collin, Ellie, and Mia. She grew up surrounded by her loving sisters, Carolyn Filkill, Linda Bessler, and Diana Gill, and cherished memories with her late sisters, Sandra "Sass" Christensen, and Barbara Clark. Janet's work ethic was unparalleled, and her career was as diverse as it was impressive. She worked at several local area potteries, demonstrating her artistic flair and attention to detail. Her retirement came after years of dedicated service at PCC Airfoils and Northrup Aircraft. One of Janet's proudest accomplishments was her involvement in the top-secret building of the Stealth Bomber. An avid Cincinnati Reds fan, Janet's love for baseball was infectious. During each season, she could be found cheering on her favorite team, sharing in their wins and losses with equal passion. Her love for gambling was well-known, as she enjoyed the thrill of the game, whether it was at the casino or playing card games with her sisters during their weekly gatherings. Janet possessed the skill of being a very talented bowler, winning awards in various leagues and tournaments throughout her lifetime. Her delight for life extended to her love of socializing. She always looked forward to family cookouts and gatherings with friends, where her presence was a guarantee of good food and even better company. In celebrating her life, calling hours will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 2pm -4pm and 6pm – 8pm, at Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 33 N. Main Street, Roseville.
