Gerald Wayne Harrison, known to most as Mugsy, has been called home to his heavenly Father. Born on the 23rd day of April in 1937, he was a native son of Ringold, Ohio where he was born to the late Roy and Fronia (Withem) Harrison. He departed from this earthly realm, bound for glory, on November 15, 2023, in Roseville, Ohio. A proud graduate of York High School in Deavertown in 1955, Wayne was a hardworking man who dedicated 30 years of his life to the Alloy as a heavy equipment operator. His work ethic was second to none and his commitment to his craft was admired by all who knew him. The love Wayne had for the outdoors was evident in his many hobbies. He was an avid fisherman, a skilled hunter, and a sharp-eyed trap shooter. He found peace in the simple act of mowing, connecting with the earth beneath his feet and the sky above. Wayne was a devout Christian who held membership with the Deavertown United Methodist Church and attended the East Fultonham United Methodist Church. His faith was a guiding light in his life, a beacon of hope and strength. He walked in the footsteps of Jesus, his life a testament of love, kindness, and service. Wayne was the loving father of Chris (John) Huddleston of Crooksville and Karen Wood of Roseville, and the respected patriarch to his sons, Greg (Becky) Harrison of Roseville and Mitchell (Heather) Harrison of Roseville. His grandchildren, Melissa Keylor, Jenny (John) Kirkbride, and Kyle Harrison, each held a special place in his heart. His great-grandchildren, Hannah (Jared) Kelly, Isaiah Johnson, Kalais Keylor, Haylie Kirkbride, and John Kirkbride III, were sources of joy and pride. He was also eagerly anticipating the arrival of a great-great-grandchild in January 2024. Wayne is also survived by his loving sister Beverly (Dale) Halsey, and his faithful fur companion, Tommy. Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Karen (Hammer) Harrison, his parents, and his brothers, Donald, Ronald, and Bill Harrison, and son-in-law, Kenny Wood. Yet, we take comfort in knowing that they have been reunited in the presence of our Lord. Calling hours will be held Sunday, November 19, 2023, from 4pm – 7pm at Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 207 Burley Street, Crooksville, where funeral services will take place Monday, November 20, 2023, at 11am with Pastor John Coleman officiating. Wayne will be laid to rest in Rose Hill Cemetery, next to his beloved wife, Karen. You may sign the online register book or share a memory at www.ross-frashfuneralhomes.com
