Eugene Shipley, 89, of Roseville, went to join his Lord and Savior, Thursday, March 30, 2023, while in the care of Shriver’s Hospice at the Helen Purcell Home. He was born on February 19, 1934 in Roseville to the late Thomas and Hattie Rapp Shipley. Eugene was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a cowboy at heart and loved working on and around his farm and listening to classic country music. Eugene was a former inspector for Zanesville Mould, where he served as an inspector until retirement and was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Roseville. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Gloria “Jean” Shipley of the home; sons, Gregory G. (Leigh Ann) Shipley of Rome, Georgia, and Joel E. Shipley of Toldeo, Ohio; grandchildren, Brian Shipley, Kurt Shipley, and Kayla Turner; great grandchildren, Ava Shipley, Sydney Shipley, Avery Edward Shipley, Bryce Turner, and Karmyn Keyes; a sister, Doris Humphrey. Welcoming him into Heaven were his parents, and siblings, Jack Shipley, Tom Shipley, and Pearl Crabtree. Calling hours will be held Sunday, April 2, 2023, from 1:00 pm to 3:00pm at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 146 N. Main Street, Roseville, where services will begin at 3:00 pm with Pastor Orlen Bates officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Roseville.
