Duane L. Watts, 80, of Crooksville, went to be with the Lord, Sunday January 24, 2021 at Genesis Healthcare after a sudden illness. He was born on May 5, 1940 in Zanesville to the late Everett J. and Florence Louise Harris Watts. Duane worked at Ohio Ferro alloy and later held employment with Malta Windows until retirement. He was an active member of Iliff United Methodist Church, where he was a loyal and faithful servant of God and cared deeply for his church family. He was a devoted cook of over 40 years for the monthly Men of Vision breakfast held on the 1st Sunday of each month at the church. Duane was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and took pride in socializing with fellow friends and family. He liked solving jigsaw puzzles, indulging in sweet treats, traveling and spending time outdoors. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Kay Reed Watts of the home; sons, Troy (Patty) Watts of Crooksville, Barry Watts of McArthur, Scott (Tina Montosa) of Bellingham, Wa; grandchildren, Caleb (Jessica) Watts and Tessa (Eric) Skidmore; great grandchildren, Collin, Juliet, Phoenix and Ariana; brothers, David, Keith and Gene Watts; sisters, Kay Watts and Rita Sciocchetti. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill, Jerry, Larry, Lyle and Jimmy Watts; sisters, Patricia Watts and Sheila Suttles; and daughter-in-law, Tonya Watts. Calling hours will be held Wednesday January 27, 2021 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm at Iliff United Methodist Church, McLuney, where funeral services will be held Thursday January 28, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Greg Inboden officiating.
