William E. "Bill" Lyons Sr., 75, a true patriot, friend, and everyone's "Pops" passed away on July 20, 2025, after a courageous battle with ALS. Born on March 25, 1950, in Roseville, Ohio, Bill's life was a testament to his selfless nature and gentle spirit. He departed this world at Beckett House in New Concord, surrounded by the warmth of his loving family. Bill's early life in Roseville laid a strong foundation for the man he would become. A graduate of Roseville High School, he was well-known for his work ethic and his innate ability to mentor those around him. His career as a mould maker at Nelson McCoy along with Friendship Pottery, Ransbottom, Burley, and Zanesville Pottery earned him the respect and admiration of many. Bill's commitment to excellence continued until his retirement from Dollar General Warehouse, where he left a lasting impact on his colleagues. A man of faith, Bill's Christian beliefs guided his actions and his interactions with others. His kindness was evident in every aspect of his life, from the way he treated his family to his involvement in his community. Bill's patriotism was undeniable. Though unable to enlist due to unforeseen circumstances, he found a way to serve by joining the Roseville American Legion Post 71 as a member of the Sons of the Legion. His dedication to his fellow servicemen and women was unwavering, and he proudly held the position of treasurer for a period. Above all, Bill was a remarkable family man. He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength in his children, William E. (Annette) Lyons Jr and Shala (Joe Marcinko) Zemba and his treasured grandchildren, Taylor (Cody), Tuff, Rock, Rowdy, Sheila, Robin, Levi and great-granddaughter, Olive, Bill's siblings, Kenneth and Keith Lyons, Carolyn (Scott) Jones, Mary McNeal, and Donna (Robert) Mayer, a host of nieces, nephews, friends and special friend, Melise. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald L. Allen and Elizabeth "Maggie" (Sagle) Chappelear, sister Kathleen Armbrust, his brother-in-law, Randy McNeal, niece Kristie Jones and his nephew, Ronald Suttles. Calling hours will be held Friday July 25, 2025, from 1:00pm – 4:00pm at Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 33 N. Main Street, Roseville, where services will begin at 4:00pm with Pastor Don Harris officiating and burial will conclude in Black Oak Cemetery, Deavertown. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the Beckett House, Shriver's Hospice and the numerous care givers for the compassionate care and genuine show of love and support throughout Bill's journey. in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Shriver's Hospice make a wish at PO Box 343, Zanesville, Ohio
