Richard Lee "Dick" McConnell, 94, of Roseville, passed away Tuesday May 2, 2017 at Willow Haven Care Center. Born November 12, 1922 to the late C. Elmer and Hazel Neff McConnell, Dick grew up in Cannelville and was a graduate of Roseville High School. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and took part in 3 amphibious landings. Dick was employed at Nelson McCoy Pottery as a dipper for over 40 years, a member of the Roseville American Legion Post 71 and St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He was an excellent gardener and took great pride in his well-manicured lawn. He is survived by his son, Terry (Marilyn) McConnell of Greensboro, NC, and daughter, Mary Beth McConnell of Roseville; sister and brother-in-law (and best friend) Grace Ann (Jimmie) Wilson of Roseville; and their 4 children. He is preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary McConnell, who passed away in 2007; and his parents. Family and Friends may call, Thursday, May 4, 2017 from 6 pm to 8 pm at ROSS-FRASH FUNERAL HOME, 33 Main Street, Roseville, where funeral services will be held Friday, May 5, 2017 at 11 am with Pastor Stan McHenry officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery next to his wife with full military honors.
