Leroy F. Starcher, 80, of Roseville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026, at his son's residence, following an extended illness. He was born on May 16, 1946, in Cannelville, Ohio, to the late Clarence Deems and Ruth (Lenham) Starcher. Leroy was a man whose presence was easy to appreciate and impossible to forget. He never met a stranger, and his friendly nature made others feel welcome wherever he went. He was a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and each role was important to him in its own way. Leroy carried himself with kindness, honesty, and a straightforward manner that reflected the values he held throughout his life. Those who knew him will remember his easy conversation, his good humor, and the genuine interest he showed in the lives of others. He was formerly employed with the Philo Street Department and, prior to that, worked at Mosaic Tile in Zanesville. Leroy enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, and he found happiness in hunting, fishing, and watching western movies. These interests reflected his appreciation for the outdoors, quiet moments, and the timeless stories of strength and character that he enjoyed on screen. Family was central to Leroy's life, and he cherished the many relationships that surrounded him. He is survived by his sons, Donnie (Pauline) Starcher, and Justin (Lindsey) Starcher; his stepchildren, Bonnie (Steve), and Bev; his sisters, Dorothy (Roger) Bickford, and Annalee (Fred) Ross; several grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and extended family and friends who will carry his memory forward with love as well as the mother of his children, Mary Cox. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beula Wickham; his mother and stepfather, Ruth (Lanham) and Demy Starcher; father, Clarence Deems; his brothers, Buck (Juanita) Starcher, and Melvin (Mary) Starcher; his sister, Thelma (Sonny) Moore; and his grandparents, Lawrence and Milly Lanham. Leroy's life was also shaped by the bonds of a large and loving family, and he remained connected to those relationships throughout his years. Calling hours will be Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 4pm-7pm at Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 33 N. Main Street, Roseville. Following services, cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at www.ross-frashfuneralhomes.com to assist the family with expenses.
