Obituary

John Lyons, 85, of Crooksville, passed away Friday, March 31, 2023, at Genesis Healthcare after an unexpected illness. He was born at home, in Morgan County, on March 2, 1938, to the late James and Maggie Gossman Lyons. John was a Christian of faith and dedicated most of his life to Ebenezer Country Church, outside of Roseville, where he spent 25 years as the church treasurer and teaching Sunday School. Earlier in life, he enlisted and proudly served the United States as a member of the Army National Guard and later was employed with Cesco as a die maker until retirement. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Linda McNeal Lyons of the home; sons, Bryan (Finacee, Shelley Solgot) Lyons, and Tom (Lisa) Lyons; grandchildren, Kayla Bowman, Jason Lyons, Amanda Kostura, Mitchell Frye, Colin, and Colten Solgot; great grandchildren, Blake Bowman, Ellie Bowman, Sophia Westfall. John was preceded in death by his daughter, Lori Ann Lyons, his parents, and daughter-in-law, Dixie Lyons. Calling hours will be held Monday, April 3, 2023, from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 207 Burley Street, Crooksville, where funeral services will begin at 2:00pm with Pastor Carolyn Hoskinson officiating.
