James "Jake" Burley Jr, 80, of Crooksville, departed from this life, Tuesday, August 29, 2022, at his residence, surrounding by his loving family. He was born May 20, 1942, in Crooksville, the son of the late Eleanor Luckett Burley and James Burley Sr. Jake was formerly employed by Rockwell International and was a Catholic by faith, attending St. Nicholas Church, Zanesville when able. He was an avid Ohio State Football fan, enjoyed playing cards and cheering on the Crooksville Ceramics. Jake took pride in his work and always kept his lawn mowers and vehicles in pristine condition, regardless of their age. Left to mourn his pass are his devoted and adoring wife of 62 years, Karen Duff Burley of the home; children, Jim, Robin, Jackie, and Trish; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter, Kerissa. Calling hours will be held Thursday, September 1, 2022, from 12pm -1pm with private family services to be held. Burial will follow in Crooksville Cemetery.
