Obituary

Herbert M. Riggs, known to many as Herb, passed away unexpectedly on August 11, 2026, in Roseville, Ohio, at the age of 72. He was born on April 25, 1954, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, and carried with him throughout his life the values of hard work, loyalty, and quiet strength that were shaped early in his years. Herb was a man who believed in doing things the right way, and he earned the respect of those who knew him through his steady presence, his dependable nature, and the sincere way he treated others. Herb spent several years working at Robinson Ransbottom Pottery, where he was known for his dedication and work ethic. He also worked in construction for multiple years, applying his skills with pride and perseverance. In more recent years, he served his local community as the maintenance man at Village Green Apartments in Roseville, where he not only lived, but also built many close relationships with the people around him. He was valued not only for the work he did, but for the kindness, familiarity, and sense of trust he brought to those he encountered each day. He loved old cars whether it was collecting them or working on them, it was one of his guilty pleasures in life. Family was an important part of Herb’s life, and he took great pride in the people he loved. He is survived by his sons, Jared Riggs and his wife Nikki, and Travis Riggs; his daughter, Makaylah Inman; and his beloved grandchildren, Madalyn, Zander, Shelbie, Aria, Destiny, Chloe, Kash and Jackson. He also leaves behind his sister, Betty Riggs, and his faithful fur companion Jax. Herb was preceded in death by wife and mother of his sons, Diane (Wheeler) Riggs, his companion of many years and mother of his daughter Rebekah Ann Rush- Wheeler, his parents, Theodore E. and Zelaa (Hall) Riggs, as well as his siblings, Larry, Doris, Allie, Bruce, Bonnie and Carolyn Riggs. No calling hours will be held, and a dignified cremation will be handled by Ross-Frash Funeral Homes, 33 N. Main Street, Roseville.
