Don (Donald D) Baughman, age 87, of Newark, Ohio passed in his sleep December 15, 2016. Don was born June 9, 1929 in Roseville, Ohio. He graduated from South Zanesville High in 1947. He served in the Army from July 1952 until July 1954, during the Korean War. He spent decades working in grocery, inventory and distributing services. After retiring in 1997, Don spent his free time doing hospital volunteer work, playing euchre at his senior center, reading and spending time with his family and friends. Don is survived by his daughter Kathy (Keith) Lewis of MI and step daughter Charlotte (Delbert) Heim of SC; grandchildren Tracy (Jim) Grant of SC, Shannon (Brian) Vicars of SC, Morgan (Brent) Wellman of MI and Matt (Heather) Lewis of MI; many great grandchildren; siblings Patty Toole of OH, Creta Vasecka of MT and Bill Bess of MO; girlfriend Judy Blair of OH as well as other extended family and friends. Don was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Bereniece (Houk) Baughman; his mother Grace Bess Pederson; step father William Leo Bess; his brothers Dick Baughman, Gene Bess and Bob Bess. Per Don's request, there will be a simple chapel service  held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 33 N. Main Street, Roseville.
