Obituary

David E. Ball, 73, of Roseville, Ohio, passed away on August 27, 2026, following a courageous 11½-year battle with cancer. He was born January 8, 1953, to the late Elmer L. and Virginia L. Ball. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brothers, Andy Ball and Charles Ball. David leaves behind many who will forever cherish his memory, including his life partner, Penny Ball; his children, Julie Ball, Traci (Dan) Cosgrave, and Brian Ball; his grandchildren, Xander Ball and Alice Ball; and his siblings, Sue Dooley, Marilyn (Richard) Dickson, Carolyn (Gary) Thompson, and Jennifer (Robert) Parker. David truly never met a stranger. He loved spending his days visiting with friends, stopping by the local clubs, signing up, and simply enjoying the company of those around him. Wherever David went, there was usually someone he knew—or someone who wouldn't be a stranger for long. He valued his friendships deeply and genuinely enjoyed being around people. David retired from the United States Postal Service after 39 years of dedicated service, where he worked as an electronics technician. Above all, David treasured his family, and his grandchildren, Xander and Alice, were truly the light of his life. He cherished the time he spent with them and was incredibly proud of them. Those who knew David will remember his outgoing personality, his love for people, and the many friendships he made throughout his life. He touched more lives than he probably ever realized and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, classmates, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. A memorial service honoring David's life will be held on Tuesday September 1, 2026, at Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 207 Burley Street, Crooksville. Family and friends may gather from 5:00pm until 6:30pm, with the memorial service beginning at 6:30pm with Rev. Darren Tolbert officiating. Cremation has been chosen.
