Christina L. Barkhurst, 62, of Crooksville,  passed away peacefully, Monday April 29, 2024 at Altercare Somerset after an extended illness. She was born on December 16, 1961 in Zanesville to Florence (Mills) and the late John Filkins Jr. Chris spent most of her life working as a home health aide and caring for her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed socializing with others, dancing and attending Lifeway Church.  Left to mourn her passing are her children, Brandon (Robin) Delong and Tyler Barkhurst; grandchildren, Paisley Barkhurst, Cameron Delong and Sidney Delong; brothers, Bill Filkins and James Filkins and a  sister, Kimberly Griffith. She was preceded in death by her father, John Filkins Jr; grandson Easton Delong, and brothers, John Filkins III and Jack Filkins. Per her request, no services will be observed and a dignified cremation will take place under the direction of Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 207 Burley Street , Crooksville.
