Carl Lee Kane, 74, of Columbus, IN, died at 6:05 a.m. on Friday, February 15, 2019, at Willow Crossing Nursing Home following a battle with illness. He was born in Roseville, OH, February 18, 1944, the son of the late Joseph and Clara (Wise) Kane. Carl is survived by two sons, William R. (Kelly) Kane of Monroe, MI, and Chris A. (Lisa) Kane of Columbus, IN, and four grandchildren, Cullen, Claudia, Reagan and Caleb Kane. Carl also leaves behind many close friends. Carl was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 50 years, Glenna Sue (Ford) Kane ("Susie"), sister, Donna (Kane) Wallace and brother, Roy Kane. In his early years, Carl would work on the family farm during the summer with Roy and Donna. After graduating from Roseville High School, he attended technical college, volunteered on the Roseville Fire Department and worked part time for Leslie Cope in his gallery. He met his wife, Susie, in high school and they married shortly after graduation at the United Methodist Church in Roseville on August 9, 1963. After Carl and Susie were married Carl began working at McCoy Pottery in Roseville and then at the Ohio Power Company for several years in Beverly, OH. Carl proudly served the Village of Beverly as Mayor for several years making a positive impact on the community and all its residents. They eventually moved to Pryor and Oklahoma City, OK before retiring and moving to Columbus, IN to be closer to their grandchildren. Carl loved wood working (specifically Christmas decorations), watching westerns and talking about politics. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:30 pm Saturday March 2, 2019 at Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 33 N. Main Street, Roseville with a Service of Remembrance beginning at 2:00 pm with Pastor Jerry Sutton officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Roseville.
