Obituary

Betty Jean Ashford, 63, of Roseville, passed away into Heaven's Glory on Tuesday, February 17 , 2015. Waiting to greet her were her parents, other family members and her many precious pets that have gone before her. Betty was a staunch Christian woman who believed in the power of healing. Why our earthly prayers were not answered we may never know, but God does. She had fought a long hard courageous battle with COPD and it was her time to be healed. We shall miss her greatly, but we know that she's doing just fine. Once she saw Jesus and the peacefulness of Heaven she decided to stay. Betty was a 1969 graduate of Roseville High School. She held an Associate Degree in Business Management and Accounting from Zane State Community College. She was a former employee of NCR in Cambridge where she retired. She and her brother John enjoyed doing fairs and flea markets together. In her younger days, she was a Muskingum County Fair Grand Champion in Horsemanship. She and her brother Mike showed at many horse shows together in their youth. Betty was the daughter of the late Franklin and Henrietta Ashford of Roseville. She is survived by her brothers, John (Carol) Ashford and Mike (Jean) Ashford of Roseville; a very special niece and caregiver, Lori Fowlkes, who spent countless hours by her bedside; her pets, Little Diamond, Spaz, Cats and her horses; a nephew, James Ashford of Sarasota, Fl.; three great nieces, Megan, Rachael and Sarah; a great nephew, Skyler and three great-great nieces. A celebration of Betty's life will be announced at a later date. Snouffer Funeral Home, 33 S. Main Street, Roseville has been entrusted to care for the Ashford family.
