AJ Tiler Roberts, of Crooksville, known affectionately as AJ, was born on November 14, 2006, in Zanesville, Ohio, and passed away unexpectedly on August 19, 2026, in Somerset, Ohio, as the result of an automobile accident at the age of 19. AJ was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, boyfriend, and friend whose presence brought warmth and light to everyone who knew him. He was the cherished son of Sylvia Roberts and Ronnie Miller, and he was deeply loved by his siblings, Kamber Matheney and her husband Hunter, Ronald Miller III, Kollen Kinser, Kobe Miller, and Dominic Miller. He was a proud and loving uncle to his nephew, Freyr, and he held a special place in the hearts of his grandparents, Penny and Joseph Roberts, Debbie Miller. He was also dearly loved by his girlfriend and soulmate, Chloe Kennedy, and by his brother-in-law, Gage Kennedy. AJ was blessed with special friends, Cooper Wilson, Kole Gamble and Aiden McGrath, along with special co-parents, Tim and Amber Kennedy, and special neighbor David Love and his boys, all of whom were important parts of his life. He was also surrounded by the loyal companionship of his faithful fur-babies, Dixie, Diesel, Weenie, Winnie, and Tilly, who brought him comfort and joy. AJ was a 2024 graduate of Crooksville High School, where he completed an important chapter of his life with the same quiet determination and steady spirit that he carried into everything he did. After high school, he worked in painting and in various other roles for Carvana. Those who knew AJ will remember not only what he did, but the way he did it, with kindness, sincerity, and a genuine heart. He had the most heartwarming smile, and it was the kind of smile that could brighten a room and reassure those around him without a single word being spoken even at the darkest moments. AJ had a deep love for baseball and was extremely appreciative of his fellow coaches of the years – Danny Smith, Nate VanMeter, Dustin Gamble, Eric Lane and the late Chris Hill. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians. His favorite player was Carlos Santana, and when Santana moved on from the Indians, AJ remained loyal and followed him to each of his future teams. That kind of devotion reflected who AJ was in life. He was faithful in the things and people he loved, and he carried that loyalty with him in a way that was both admirable and unforgettable. Derby season was one of his favorite times of the year, and he could often be heard enthusiastically shouting it out with excitement. He loved horses almost as much as he loved Chloe, and he found joy in caring for her horses and in taking her to barrel racing events. The two were inseparable, and their bond was one of the defining joys of his life. Their love was evident to everyone who saw them together, and it was built on companionship, devotion, and shared dreams. He was preceded in death by his niece, Violet and grandfather Ronald “Crazy Horse” Miller. Calling hours will be held Sunday, August 23, 2026, from 2pm - 6pm at Ross-Frash Funeral Homes, 207 Burley Street, Crooksville, where funeral services will be celebrated, Monday August 24, 2026, at 1pm with Pastor Tony Richard Officiating. He will be laid to rest in Crooksville Cemetery. You may sign the online register book at www.ross-frashfuneralhomes.com
