Herman W. Bowers, 90, of Zanesville, passed away Saturday July 15, 2017 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House. He was born January 2, 1927 in Parkersburg, West Va., to the late Glenn and Mary Barker Bowers. Herman worked as a coal miner at Ten-x, a local coal company between Cannelville and Roseville and was a meticulous gardener who loved growing fruits and vegetables. He is survived by his brother, Lewis (Kathleen) Bowers of Zanesville; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Dwight and Everett Bowers and sister, Freida Beisser. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 pm Tuesday, July 18, 2017 in Rose Hill Cemetery, Roseville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Genesis Hospice or Zanesville Church of the Nazarene.
