Gilbert “Gib” McHenry, 92, of Roseville, passed away Wednesday July 25, 2018 at the Oaks at Northpointe in Zanesville. Gib was born in Crooksville on August 12, 1925, the son of the late Elza and Ella (Dawson) McHenry. He worked at the Nelson McCoy Pottery for many years in the maintenance department and was a member of the Roseville American Legion Post 71 where he loved spending time drinking coffee with his fellow veterans. Gib was a former employee of the Roseville Circus and later helped to build the WHIZ-TV Tower. He proudly served his country during World War II through the United States Navy. He is survived by his brother, Wilbert (Renetta) McHenry of Zanesville and dear friend, Terri, Jake, Katie and Mindi. He was preceded in death by his wife, Orleta M. (Folden) McHenry; sister, Ruth Wickham; and brothers, Burl, Samuel, Herbert, Bernard and Marvin “Shine” McHenry. Calling hours will be held Monday July 30, 2018 at Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 33 N. Main Street, Roseville from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Albert Laese officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery with the Roseville American Legion Post 71 providing military honors.
