Marie E. (Reed) (Bookman) Wells

Marie E. (Reed) (Bookman) Wells, 74, of Corning, went to sing with the angels at 7:02pm, Saturday February 24, 2018 at Select Specialty Hospital. She was born July 23, 1943 in Ypsilanti, Mi to the late John William and Evelyn Lemity Reed. Marie was a retired caseworker from the State of Ohio from Morgan county. She was a country singer with Kountry Kustoms Band and several other local bands until 1987. Marie was a cheerleading advisor and coached pee wee baseball for several years at Deavertown School. She was an avid sportsman and enjoyed deer and turkey hunting as well as fishing and wildlife photography. Marie loved Wayne and spending Friday nights at Highway 40 Karaoke, as well as spending winters together at Daytona Beach with their Florida family. She was a member of Iliff United Methodist Church and Choir, Wheelin Sportsmen Club (Handicapped Hunters) and Buckmasters. Marie loved riding 4 wheelers and just generally being in the outdoors. She is survived by her partner of over 31 years, Wayne Kelly; daughters, Sherry Price and Leann Kelly Bookman; sons, Ronald Edward Wells, John Charles Wells, Raymond William (Candy) Bookman, Jimmie Lee (Cathy) Bookman, Kenneth Wayne (Amy) Bookman and Donnie Kelly; brothers, Thomas William “Bill” (Wanda) Reed, Raymond Reed, John (Susan) Reed, Kenneth Reed; sisters, Gloria Reed Allen, Mary Katherine “Kay” (Duane) Watts and Ruby Reed; grandchildren, Corey (Sarah) Mayle, Shalia (Derrick) Fisher, Aaron Wells, Derek Wells, Faith Wells, Brandon Wells, Katie Wells, Alyssa Price, Joshua (Courtney) Price, Zach Bookman, Tiffany Shaver; 8 great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Wilma Reed . She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Reed and 4 infant brothers; daughter-in-law, Dianna Wells; sister-in-law, Veronica “Vonnie” Reed; brother-in-laws, Robert Allen and Mike Helser. Family and friends may call Tuesday February 27, 2018 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm at Iliiff United Methodist Church, 3992 Flint Ridge Road, Crooksville, where services will take place Wednesday February 28, 2018 at 1pm with Pastor Greg Inboden officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery, Portersville. Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 207 Burley Street, Crooksville, is caring for the family.
