Dorothy Tignor Obituary

Dorothy Ileen Tignor, 88, of Roseville, completed her earthly journey on April 24, 2024, surrounded by the warmth of her family at Adams Lane Care Center in Zanesville. She was born July 2, 1935, on Buzzards Glory Road, Crooksville, to the late Pearl E. and Dorothy (Dennis) Kinney. Dorothy's life was a rich tapestry woven with love, laughter, and the joy of simple pleasures. Her passing, though a time of sorrow, is also a celebration of a life well-lived. Dorothy's influence and teachings are her enduring gift to her family, who will continue to honor her memory through their own lives and traditions. The matriarch of a large and loving family, she leaves behind her children: Peggy Tignor, Jim Tignor, Carolyn Pidock, and Bill Tignor; her grandchildren: Joy, Kimberly, Brady, Bryce, Kaden, Anna, Susan, Jimmy Jr., John, Dale, James Jr., and Clarence; along with several adored great-grandchildren. She dedicated herself to nurturing her family and created a home filled with the aroma of freshly baked goods and the sound of lively music. Her children, alongside her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, were the light of her life, and she poured her heart into raising them with care and devotion. Though her sons David and Roger, as well as her grandson David Allen, and daughter-in-law, Vicki, preceded her in death, the legacy of her love lives on through her family. Dorothy was known for her ornery sense of humor, delighted in playful teasing with her grandchildren, who were always eager to be wrapped in her warmth and wit. She also leaves behind her brother Albert (Peggy) Kinney and sister Alice (Don) Wickham. Before embracing her role as a homemaker, Dorothy worked at Essex Wire. However, her true passion lay within the walls of her home and in the great outdoors, where she relished attending family picnics and exploring the natural beauty of Burr Oak and Old Man's Cave. Her love for travel was only matched by her talent in the kitchen, where she excelled at baking and cooking from scratch, insisting on using nothing but the freshest ingredients. Dorothy's passion for life was evident in her love of dancing and music. Even as the years passed, she could be found doing the twist with the grace and the energy of a teenager. Calling hours will be held Friday, April 26, 2024, from 12pm until 2pm at Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 33 N. Main Street, Roseville, where funeral services will begin at 2pm with Pastor Albert Laese officiating and burial to follow in Iliff Cemetery, Mcluney. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Genesis Hospice, Dr. Mumma and the staff at Adam’s Lane Care Center for the love and care that was provided to Dorothy in her time of need.
